Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Digital Competence and Coaching-Mentoring on Career Development through Work Motivation among employees at PT PLN Indonesia Power UBP Suralaya. The study employs a quantitative approach with a causal research design. The sample consisted of 221 respondents selected using simple random sampling. Data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with the assistance of the SmartPLS software. The results indicate that Digital Competence and Coaching-Mentoring have a significant positive effect on Work Motivation. Coaching-Mentoring and Work Motivation also have a significant positive effect on Career Development, whereas Digital Competence does not have a significant direct effect on Career Development. Work Motivation was found to mediate the relationship between Digital Competence and Coaching-Mentoring on Career Development. The research findings indicate that enhancing employees’ career development is not solely determined by digital competence but also requires effective coaching-mentoring and high work motivation. This study reinforces the Human Capital Theory and Social Learning Theory in explaining employees’ career development
