Analisis Karakteristik Fisik Piroil Polypropylene Melalui Studi Korelasi Temperatur dan Konsentrasi Katalis γ-Al₂O₃Terhadap Nilai Density dan Color ASTM

Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh temperatur dan konsentrasi katalis terhadap karakteristik fisik piroil hasil pirolisis limbah plastik Polypropylene (PP) dari Perusahaan X dalam kondisi vakum menggunakan katalis γ-Al₂O₃ dan ukuran material 1,7 mm. Variabel penelitian meliputi temperatur operasi 350°C dan 400°C dengan variasi konsentrasi katalis 0%, 2,5%, 5%, serta 10%, di mana parameter kualitas fisik diuji menggunakan standar ASTM D4052 untuk densitas dan ASTM D1500 untuk warna. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa densitas terendah sebesar 0,7705 g/cm3 dicapai pada kondisi 400°C dengan katalis 10%, yang mengindikasikan terjadinya perengkahan rantai polimer secara optimal menjadi fraksi hidrokarbon ringan. Namun, dari aspek visual, temperatur 350°C menghasilkan minyak yang lebih jernih dengan nilai Color ASTM terendah sebesar 1,5 pada konsentrasi katalis 10%, sedangkan pada temperatur 400°C terjadi kecenderungan penggelapan warna hingga mencapai skala 2,5. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan timbal balik antara densitas dan kejernihan warna, di mana penggunaan katalis 10% pada suhu 400°C paling efektif untuk meminimalkan massa jenis, sementara suhu 350°C dengan katalis 10% memberikan hasil terbaik untuk kualitas visual produk.
