Google Scholar is a freely accessible web search engine that indexes the full text of scholarly literature across an array of publishing formats and disciplines. The Google Scholar index includes most peer-reviewed online journals of Europe and America's largest scholarly publishers, plus scholarly books and other non-peer reviewed journals. It is similar in function to the freely available Scirus from Elsevier, CiteSeerX, and getCITED. It is also similar to the subscription-based tools, Elsevier's Scopus and Thomson ISI's Web of Science.
Crossref is registered as Publishers International Linking Association, Inc. (PILA) in New York, USA. You can view our certificate of incorporation and by laws. We have tax exempt status in the US as a 501(c)6 organization. Here is our antitrust policy and our conflict of interest policy. The board of directors governs Crossref. They meet three times a year and oversee the organization, set its strategic direction and make sure that Crossref fulfills its mission. A list of motions for the last few years is available.
GARUDA (Garba Rujukan Digital) indexing database is in the RISTEKDIKTI (Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of Republic Indonesia).
The ICI World of Journals gathers information regarding scientific journals from various sources. Thus, we share comprehensive information regarding the scope of journals' activity, editorial offices and articles published by the scientific journals. International journals from all over the world may register in the ICI World of Journals, a dedicated system has been made available to manage the Journal's Passport.
Indonesia OneSearch or IOS is a continuously evolving search portal for all public materials from Indonesian libraries, museums, and archives. IOS also provides access to the subscribed e-resources for all registered members. It is a featured program by the National Library of Indonesia. To participate in IOS, every repository should provide an API based on the OAI-PMH (Open Archive Initiatives) protocol. This is a widely used protocol in the open repository world, used by more than 75% of all repositories in the world.
Bielefeld University Library BASE is one of the world's most voluminous search engines especially for academic web resources. BASE provides more than 120 million documents from more than 6,000 sources. You can access the full texts of about 60% of the indexed documents for free (Open Access). BASE is operated by Bielefeld University Library. BASE is indexing the metadata of all kinds of academically relevant resources - journals, institutional repositories, digital collections etc. - which provide an OAI interface and use OAI-PMH for providing their contents (see our Golden Rules for Repository Managers and learn more about OAI at the Open Archives Initiative or Wikipedia). The index is continuously enhanced by integrating further sources (you can suggest a source which is not indexed yet). We are working on several new features like a claiming service for authors within the ORCID DE project. BASE is a registered OAI service provider. Database managers can integrate the BASE index into their local infrastructure (e.g. meta search engines, library catalogues). Further on there are several tools and services for users, database and repository managers.
