Abstract

Suplementasi creatine monohydrate sering dipadukan dengan latihan beban untuk mempercepat adaptasi fisik. Namun, penggunaan Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT) pada populasi aktif dapat menimbulkan bias karena tidak membedakan massa otot, lemak, dan cairan tubuh. Penelitian deskriptif-komparatif non-eksperimental ini merupakan pilot study yang bertujuan membandingkan profil IMT dan komposisi tubuh antara pengguna dan non-pengguna creatine monohydrate di Hong Power Gym Pagesangan, Kota Mataram. Enam subjek pria dipilih melalui purposive sampling dan dibagi menjadi dua kelompok. Pengukuran dilakukan menggunakan Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis dan stadiometer. Karena data tidak berdistribusi normal, analisis menggunakan uji Mann–Whitney U. Hasil menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan pada massa otot skeletal (p = 0,043) dan kecenderungan total cairan tubuh lebih tinggi (p = 0,050) pada kelompok pengguna, sedangkan persentase lemak tubuh tidak berbeda signifikan (p = 0,827). Peningkatan IMT pada pengguna creatine lebih mencerminkan massa otot dan hidrasi seluler daripada akumulasi lemak. Temuan ini masih bersifat awal sehingga perlu ditafsirkan secara hati-hati.
